State Police are investigating the death of a Newaygo Co. woman.

 

According to authorities, police were sent to a home of a 77-year old Big Prairie Township woman Tuesday around 7pm.

 

When officers arrived they found the woman unresponsive and had been bitten by a family dog.

 

EMS performed life saving measures on Sharon Lee Daniels but were unsuccessful, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

 

An initial investigation determined Daniels was home alone with three family dogs when one of the dogs bit her.

 

Daniels is disabled and wheelchair bound. Troopers continue to investigate.
