Mecosta County Sheriff Deputies believe a Howard City man suffered a medial incident which caused a one vehicle accident Wednesday in Mecosta Township.

It happened on 8 Mile Rd (M-20) near 230th Ave. Police say the 67-year old semi truck driver was traveling eastbound on 8 Mile Rd when he suffered a medical emergency.

The semi crossed the center line and left the roadway to the north side of the roadway, struck a utility pole and then went down into the ditch and into a swamp.

The Howard City man was taken to Spectrum Big Rapids Hospital for treatment.
