Extra security measures are going in buildings at Central Michigan University this summer.
Mechanical and electronic door locks are being added in classrooms and auditoriums campus-wide.
The locks will allow rooms to be locked from inside.
In addition, access to residential areas will be limited to those living in each residence hall starting in the Fall.
Some of the security updates started two years ago. Police say the work will increase layers of protection for students.
Details of building security will be part of students' move-in information.
The latest security measures come months after James Davis Jr. was arrested for shooting and killing his parents in his dorm room at Campbell Hall.
